Trialist Nico Reifer top scored with 80 but Northamptonshire 2XI fell short of Glamorgan 2XI’s first innings score on Day 2 at Campbell Park.
Glamorgan finished the first day on 361/8 and added 33 runs to their overnight score, with Freddie Heldreich and Bailey Wightman taking the final two wickets.
Tribe top scored for Glamorgan 2XI, scoring a very well-made 164 and hitting 18 boundaries as he guided the side to 394 all out.
George Hargrave and Aum Raykar opened the batting for the 2XI, but Raykar was caught in the 11th over, trying to cut on off the back foot, giving Harris his first wicket.
Hargrave fell for 18 four overs later, clipping one to midwicket for a simple catch.
Hughes-Rowlands and Nico Reifer put on a 50 partnership but Hughes-Rowlands fell just before the 2XI brought up their 100 as he was caught in the deep trying to hit William Moore to the leg side boundary.
Josh Cobb was in at five and joined Reifer in putting on a 81 run partnership, with Reifer bringing up his half century in 78 balls, with seven 4s on the way.
Cobb powered his way to 47 off 55 deliveries but fell just short of his half century after an inside edge hit leg stump, leaving the 2XI 176-4.
Five overs later Rishabh Upadhyay fell for 6 as the youngster was trapped LBW by Goss as the 2XI found themselves five down.
Charles Oldershaw hit 22 from 20 and Reifer top scored with 80 but the 2XI slipped to 262 all out, trailing by 132.
Glamorgan 2XI saw off seven overs from the Northamptonshire 2XI attack, finishing the day 35/0 at the end of Day 2.
