After impressing on trial in Northamptonshire’s 2nd XI during the start of the season, 22 year old all-rounder Justin Broad earned himself his first professional contract in June 2023.

Demonstrating his skill as a powerful and dynamic batsman, Broad scored eight half centuries in 15 innings for the 2XI, including 98 against the Netherlands in May 2023 and 47* against Yorkshire Vikings in the T20 Vitality Blast in June 2023. Along with impressing with the bat, Broad has proved to be efficient with the ball, taking the wicket of Daryl Mitchell on his debut against Lancashire Lightning.

The 22 year old has also represented Germany at international level, making his debut in February 2022.

Broad has signed a contract until at least the end of 2024 with the Steelbacks and joined the squad as a local player.
