The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy clash between Sunrisers and Thunder will be held at The County Ground on Friday 9th September.

The Women’s 50 over competition has been in full swing since July, with every team having played four matches so far.

With both Sunrisers and Thunder having stuttering starts to their campaigns, it will be an intense clash at Wantage Road as both teams attempt to climb up the table and claim a playoff spot.

“It’s fantastic to have a women’s 50 over match being played at The County Ground”, said Northamptonshire County Cricket Club’s Women and Girls cricket officer Liam Sayles.

“There is going to be some amazing talent on display with the likes of Grace Scrivens and Sophie Ecclestone playing, and Wantage Road is always a great place to watch cricket. It’s been a very engaging tournament so far and it’ll be a great chance to come down and soak up a brilliant day of cricket”.

This is the fourth Women’s match held at Wantage Road this year, as Sunrisers played Central Sparks in the Charlotte Edwards Cup final at the ground in June, as well as the final of the same competition being held in Northampton as well. England v South Africa was then also at Wantage Road at the start of July.

“Having the Charlotte Edwards Cup matches and finals day, as well as the England v South Africa match, at The County Ground was great. They were all successful events that saw some really positive attendances”.

“It would be great to see this continue in the 50 over game and see a big crowd at a Women’s game at Wantage Road yet again.”

Tickets are available for the 50 over clash now from just £5.
