Head Coach John Sadler has named a 12-man squad ahead of Northamptonshire’s trip to Warwickshire in the LV= Insurance County Championship with a number of injuries impacting player availability.

Indian international Karun Nair comes straight into the squad, having signed for Northamptonshire for the rest of the competition. Nair replaces Sam Whiteman who has returned home after completing his stint with the Club, the Australian leaves as the 10th highest runscorer in Division One with 719 runs at an avearge of 37.

Ricardo Vasconcelos won’t travel as he continues to deal with an ongoing wrist injury that has disrupted much of his season.

James Sales is in line to turn out for the 2XI next week as he recovers from a groin injury. The all-rounder is still unable to bowl but is expected to face Nottinghamshire 2XI as a batsman on Monday.

Gus Miller is sidelined after he suffered a fractured and dislocated finger when landing awkwardly in the field in the Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture against Glamorgan.

Young bowler George Weldon is currently recovering from scheduled ankle surgery, a procedure aimed to support the rework in his bowling action earlier this year and to prevent future issues. Fellow rookie quick George Gowler is also out of action with an ankle issue after landing awkwardly in the footholes while bowling.

Ollie Sale is continuing rehabilitation from a stress fracture in his back, the seamer had returned to bowling after a prolonged illness earlier in the season before scans revealed an area of concern.
