Lewis McManus has extended his loan with Northamptonshire and will remain at the club until the end of the season.

The keeper-batsman has impressed since arriving from Hampshire, with clean glovework and important runs.

McManus has been named in Northamptonshire’s 14-man squad for the return of the LV= Insurance County Championship beginning tomorrow at Wantage Road. He lines up alongside overseas signing and fellow keeper-batsman Ryan Rickelton who arrived for a brief stint with the county earlier in the week.

There’s another new face in Northamptonshire’s squad, with legspinner Alex Russell joining the group for the first time in red ball cricket after signing a short term rookie deal at the beginning of the Vitality Blast.
