Kettering Old Grammar School Foundation is a long-established charity that provides educational grants and bursaries for individuals and institutions in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
They support personal and educational development by enabling young people with latent talent to excel – supporting scholarship, backing innovative pilot schemes, and aiding the development of additional educational facilities.
The Foundation fund Steelbacks in the Community to deliver cricket in schools in Kettering and the surrounding area. The community team have created a programme aimed at children in Years 5 and 6 and they deliver a 6-week cricket programme between November and February.
The programme includes sessions on bowling, batting and fielding as well as a final session to prepare for the two competitions:
- Indoor Cricket tournament at Arena Sports Kettering – Friday 10th February 2023
- Outdoor Cricket tournament at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club – date TBC
The tournaments are fantastic days that provide the children with the opportunity to put their newly learnt skills into practice.
