Rob Keogh marked his 150th Steelbacks appearance with career best List A bowling figures of 4/49 in the sides 87 run victory over Somerset in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Having made his white ball debut for the club in 2010, Keogh can’t believe with how the last thirteen years have gone at Wantage Road.
“If you would’ve asked me when I was making my debut in 2010 that I was going to play 150 white ball games for the club, then I would have laughed at you.” Keogh said.
“I’ve always worked hard to get the best out of my ability and I’ve never taken any of it for granted.”
Keogh made the landmark appearance in front of a busy home crowd at Wantage Road and he believes the fans have helped him grow along the way.
“I love playing my cricket at home, I know the fans have always had my back and hopefully I can say that I have repaid them with how I’ve tried and given my all for the club.”
The all-rounder was part of the Steelbacks’ T20 victories in 2013 and 2016 and admits that they has been the highlights of his white ball career so far.
“The T20 wins stand out for me. Coming into Finals Day in 2016 as underdogs and winning two games against two very strong sides made it even better.
“We now have a chance to repeat something like that in the One Day format, where we can hopefully try and get through to the knockout stages of the competition.” Keogh added.
