Northamptonshire\u2019s 2XI bowlers made good progress but rain prevailed on a frustrating second day at Geddington Cricket Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Worcestershire started Day 2 on 265\/4 after Taylor Cornall scored a century on Day 1, but Northamptonshire\u2019s bowlers made a late fightback in the evening session, taking three wickets in the last hour of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a brief rain delay at the beginning of play, Northamptonshire\u2019s bowlers made a positive start as George Weldon took 2 wickets and Simon Kerrigan one in the first hour of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weldon found the edge of Henry Cullen early on, with Hassan Azad taking a simple catch at first slip. Five overs after, Weldon got his second of the day and third of the match, dismissing Ben Cox as he found James Sales at point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Simon Kerrigan picked up his second wicket a couple of overs later as he bowled Reeve Evitts for 7, with Worcestershire on 324\/7 before another rain delay meant that the players took an early lunch for the second day in a row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rain continued at Geddington Cricket Club, with no play in the afternoon session but the players finally got back out to the field four hours later for the start of the evening session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
