Recognised by his teammates as he won the Players’ Player of the Year award, Rob Keogh enjoyed arguably his most impressive campaign for the county he has represented with distinction since his first-team debut in 2010.

In a season in which he made his 100^th first-class appearance for Northamptonshire, the academy graduate struck three County Championship centuries that contributed to 804 Division One runs. That impressive tally meant he passed 5,000 career first-class runs. There were also valuable lower middle-order runs in the Vitality Blast, with Keogh an ever-present in both competitions.

But it was with the ball that he enjoyed his greatest success. Sharing the opposition’s wickets equally with fellow spinner Simon Kerrigan, a five-wicket haul on the final day of the County Championship fixture against Kent at Canterbury gave Northamptonshire their first Division One victory since 2004.
