Ben Curran gained valuable experience with MCC Young Cricketers from 2015 to 2017 before capitalising on his opportunity with Northamptonshire’s 2XI to then be offered a professional contract.

Curran has made a bright start to his first-class career, averaging over 30 at the top of the order in 2019. With more standout performances in T20 during 2021, including a scintillating 62 off just 33 balls against Durham, Curran will be looking to hit the same heights in 2022 with both the red and the white ball.

Ben is the son of former Northamptonshire great Kevin and brother to Sam and Tom. Ben broke into the Northamptonshire side at the back end of the 2018 season having caught the club’s eye while playing against them for MCC Young Cricketers. By the season’s end he had amassed 251 runs at 31.38, headed by 83 in the final match of the season against Sussex.

After impressing at the top of the order in the County Championship, Curran featured a lot more in the 2019 season after a successful period in the 2nd XI where he scored 490 runs in just six matches.
