Brother of England Internationals Tom and Sam, Ben Curran broke into the Northamptonshire side at the back end of the 2018 season. Having caught the club’s eye while playing against them for MCC Young Cricketers. By the season’s end he had amassed 251 runs at 31.38, headed by 83 in the final match of the season against Sussex.
After impressing at the top of the order in the County Championship, Curran featured a lot more in the 2019 season after a successful period in the 2nd XI where he scored 490 runs in six matches.
Curran has a tidy first class average of just under 33 and looks like a solid option opening the batting moving in the 2020 season.
