Northamptonshire County Cricket Club are thrilled to announce the signing of Yuzvendra Chahal for the second half of the 2026 season.

After spells at Northamptonshire across the 2024 and 2025 campaigns, Chahal will be available in the One-Day Cup and County Championship formats.

Chahal has taken 31 wickets across two County Championship spells at The County Ground and carries significant international pedigree. With 217 wickets for India across OD and T20 formats in a seven-year international career, Chahal will provide exceptional experience and skill once again in 2026.

The leg-spinner is thrilled to be returning to Northamptonshire for the following season.

“I am so excited to carry on my journey with Northamptonshire. It feels like home to me and I love playing my cricket here. We have a great squad, and I am excited to push for more success next year.”

Head Coach, Darren Lehmann, is also delighted to welcome Chahal back to the Club and sees Chahal’s role in the group as a role model figure for the younger players.

“Yuzi is a magnificent asset to this squad. His record across his career speaks for itself and he brings so much class and experience to the group. I loved working with him this year and am excited to go again in 2026.”

“For young spinners in the group like Nirvan Ramesh and Stuart van der Merwe, having Yuzi around to guide them will be a huge plus for their game.”
