With the summer sun comes the 2018 Vitality Blast, and we always aim to make it a memorable day at the County Ground for Twenty20 matches for all the family!
Twenty20 is a great introduction to cricket if you are new to the game. Each team has 20 overs to get as many runs as they can, with a match taking around three hours in total. So even when there is an evening game that starts at 6:30pm it will finish early enough to get home at a reasonable time, wherever you are in the county or immediate surrounding area.
The Vitality Blast campaign opens with a derby against Leicestershire Foxes on Wednesday, July 4th, with Nottinghamshire Outlaws coming to the County Ground on Friday, July 6th.
Some of England’s best players will be coming to the East Midlands, including plenty of the squad who have whitewashed Australia in the recent one-day and Twenty20 series.

CAR PARKINGCar parking for Vitality Blast days is in Abington Park, a couple of minutes walk away from the County Ground. There is no parking charge
ENTRY TIMESGates for the 6:30pm starts open at 4:30pm
FOOD AND DRINKThere are a variety of food and drink options at the County Ground on match days, not least Franks famous hamburgers and hot dogs! Bars are open throughout the evening.
The Hevey Suite is open as a match day restaurant for all Vitality Blast matches. For £80 + VAT per person you will have a pre-match main course meal, dessert and cheese platter during the interval, access to the bar and your table all day/evening, complimentary scorecard and match day programme, and a visit from a current or former Steelbacks player.
The Old Speckled Hen Suite is also open for food and drink. For £40 + VAT per person you will have a one-course meal and a pint, access to a private cash bar throughout the match, as well as access to watch the game from public ground facilities and viewing areas.

FAMILY ENTERTAINMENTSteeler’s Kids Zone is packed full of games for kids of all ages! These include a bouncy castle, face painting, a children’s entertainer, garden games and much more! Plus you can meet Steeler and our cheerleaders, too!
There are loads of freebies being handed out on the gate at each game, and for 2018 we will have a special match programme for £5 which interacts with the Northamptonshire app, downloadable onto iOS and Android tablets and phones.
OTHER FIXTURESAs well as Leicestershire Foxes and Nottinghamshire Outlaws, the Steelbacks will be hosting Derbyshire Falcons (July 19th), Worcestershire Rapids (July 27th), Birmingham Bears (August 5th – Family Fun Day), Durham Jets (August 10th) and Yorkshire Vikings (August 16th) during the next few weeks.
