Northamptonshire Steelbacks Women started their season with three wins out of three in April, but who impressed you the most?

From big runs to excellent captaincy, read below and cast your vote for who you think should be the Steelbacks Women’s Player of the Month for April.

The nominees are…

Chloe Hill:

In her first game since joining the Steelbacks permanently, Chloe Hill scored a crucial 59 in the 39-run win against Kent Women. That half century set the tone for the Steelbacks and helped them to a huge 309 from 50 overs. As well as that performance, Hill has helped the Steelbacks from behind the stumps, keeping things tight and playing her part in a number of dismissals.

Beth Ascott:

Beth has been a real standout for the Steelbacks in April. With back-to-back half centuries in the One Day Cup, Ascott has played a huge role in ensuring that the Steelbacks maintain their 100% start to the competition. With 56 against Kent and an even more important, unbeaten, 53 against Gloucestershire, Ascott has proved to be a crucial member of the Steelbacks top order.

Amelia Kemp:

After being one of the standout performers in 2025, Amelia Kemp has hit the ground running and has shown why she has been signed up by Tier 1 Yorkshire. Not only a threat at the top of the order, Kemp has provided the Steelbacks with a big threat with the ball. Kemp also showed her T20 skill in the Vitality T20 County Cup, hitting nine boundaries on her way to an unbeaten 54 from 42.

Anisha Patel:

The Steelbacks Women One Day Cup captain has been excellent throughout the month of April. Alongside excellent captaincy and strategic decisions, Patel has also proved to be a real threat with her leg-spin. Her three wickets against Gloucestershire Women helped reduce the hosts to 143 all out. Patel has made a number of key bowling decisions and has reaped the rewards with the Steelbacks two wins from two.
