It’s time to cast your minds back and think about which men’s player impressed you the most in April.

Throughout the opening month of the season, Northamptonshire drew all three games but there were many impressive performances throughout.

The nominees are…

Ben Sanderson:

The evergreen seamer has started the season in red hot form, leading the line for Northamptonshire and setting the tone for the rest of the attack. Sanderson took two five-wicket hauls, one against Lancashire and the other against Middlesex. With his consistent line and length, Sanderson has played a crucial role in Northamptonshire unbeaten start to the season.

Harry Conway:

The big Australian seamer has continued where he left off in 2025 by continuing to lift and bring real passion to the Northamptonshire side. His infectious energy and partnership with Ben Sanderson has helped Northamptonshire pick up the most bowling points in the division. In the opening two games, Conway found himself on a hat-trick, a real display of his impact in the Northamptonshire team.

Nathan McSweeney:

Northamptonshire’s vice-captain has enjoyed his start to the English summer and looked in good touch in April, having hit back-to-back centuries. His first came at Canterbury, where he was part of Northamptonshire history as all four batters in the top order hit centuries for the first time. His second century came at home where McSweeney struck a crucial 107 against Middlesex. He shared a 164-run partnership with James Sales to give Northamptonshire a first innings lead.

Luke Procter:

Northamptonshire red ball captain led brilliantly in April and also enjoyed some personal success. Against Kent, the Skipper hit a new first-class best of 261*. With a mix of elegant strokes and aggression, Procter led Northamptonshire to a mammoth total in Canterbury. Having led Northamptonshire to an unbeaten start to the campaign, Procter has played a huge role in what hopes to be a positive summer of first-class cricket.
