It’s time to cast back your mind to May and think about which player’s performances have been enough to become your Player of the Month.

The nominees are:

Lewis McManus

Across the month of May, Lewis McManus recorded 17 dismissals and scored 235 runs as he continues to underline his importance in the Northamptonshire squad. McManus hit a gritty 53 vs Lancashire to help Northamptonshire move out of a difficult position and set up a thrilling win at Wantage Road.

Saif Zaib

The 27-year-old had a month to remember with the bat, scoring 362 runs, including a gamechanging and new first-class best of 159 against Gloucestershire. Zaib also recorded an enterprising 56 in the second innings as Northamptonshire attacked towards victory. With 71 away at Glamorgan and 50 against Lancashire to go with this, the middle-order left-hander has demonstrated his tempremant and ever-growing ability in Northamptonshire’s middle order.

Calvin Harrison

The Nottinghamshire loanee provided a different threat with the ball for Northamptonshire and was rewarded for his continued efforts and persistence. After 11 wickets in the match away at Lancashire, Harrison spearheaded Northamptonshire to a first County Championship win of the season by taking 4/32 in the second innings. During May, the leg-spinner took 10 wickets, some important catches in the slips and also hit a new first-class career-best of 63.

Harry Conway

Head Coach, Darren Lehmann, promised entertainment from ball one when Harry Conway was announced as an overseas signing for Northamptonshire in May and the tall seamer has truly delivered, with 20 wickets at an average of 20.75. In his first stint of County Championship cricket, the Australian energised the side with his infectious approach to cricket and determination with ball in hand, finishing with an economy of 2.97 with one five-wicket haul which came against Leicestershire alongside several tenacious opening spells at the top of the innings.
