Three Northamptonshire Academy players have been chosen for the ECB Super-4’s Festival next week and one player has been selected for the Bunbury Festival next month.

The Super-4s festival, which runs from July 17th – 21st in Loughborough, consists of the best 60 players aged 17-18 across the country spread across four teams playing each other in both 20 and 50 over formats.

Raphael Weatherall and Arush Buchake will represent the Midlands group while Aadi Sharma will play for the South West group.

Sharma will be making his second appearance at the festival, having played a year up at the Super-4s tournament last year.

Sharma had an excellent tournament, scoring a century in the ‘best of the festival’ game, having been picked as one of the top 24 players from the week.

Academy Director Kevin Innes believes the players deserve their chance to showcase their ability.

“I’m really proud of them all, they’ve put in the hard work over the last few years and it’s a real opportunity to showcase their talent on a big stage.

“They will have a lot of eyes on them and there will be pressure but I’m sure they will make themselves and the club proud.”

The club are also delighted that Yashas Kochar will playing in the Bunbury Festival from 1st – 5th August, the equivalent to the Super-4s, but for the U15 age group.

Innes thinks that the Bunbury festival is a great opportunity for young players.

“Bunbury is a brilliant chance for players, it has been going for a while now and it is a very prestigious festival that has seen a lot of success stories.

“I wish him all the best and hopefully he can go out there and perform like we know he can.” He added.
