It’s time to take a think back and choose which Northamptonshire player impressed you the most in May!
The nominees are:
Emilio Gay
The Northamptonshire opener once again showed his class with the bat, scoring 306 runs in May and propelling himself up the County Championship run scoring charts. Emilio currently sits as the second highest run scorer in Division Two and the fifth highest across both divisions with 695 runs. His unbeaten 153 against Derbyshire was the highlight with his usual elegance throughout the innings.
Ricardo Vasconcelos
Ricardo Vasconcelos was another one who enjoyed runs in the Northamptonshire top order as he scored 315 runs throughout the month. Vasconcelos played a crucial role against Yorkshire at Wantage Road, batting through the whole second innings, scoring 129* and digging in to secure an important draw for his side. The left-hander looked back to free-flowing best.
Luke Procter
The Skipper finally converted on one of his scores against Yorkshire and brought up his eighth first-class hundred with a brilliant unbeaten 116. Procter also enjoyed a score of 60 against Gloucestershire and continued throughout the month with real grit and determination with both bat and ball and leading by example.
Siddharth Kaul
Siddharth Kaul’s first experience in England was exciting to watch as the seamer took 13 wickets at just under 30 across his three games for Northamptonshire. Siddharth took five wickets on debut against Gloucestershire and provided a threat with the ball during his stint with the club.
