Northamptonshire Steelbacks Women look to continue their 100% start to the Metro Bank One Day Cup Women’s League 2 when they welcome Sussex Sharks Women to Finedon Dolben CC.

The Steelbacks have won both of their opening games against Kent Women and Gloucestershire Women respectively, and currently sit third in the table behind Glamorgan and Middlesex.

Meg Austin returns to the Steelbacks on loan for this game and the side will be hoping that she can continue her strong start to Tier 2 cricket after hitting a century on debut in the win over Kent Women.

Sussex have had a mixed start, having won one and lost two from their opening three games. The Sharks enjoyed a big 155-run win against Worcestershire but have also tasted defeat against Kent and Leicestershire. The side currently sit fifth in the table on five points, having picked up a bonus point in that win against Worcestershire.

Play starts at 10:30am at Finedon Dolben on Sunday and entry is free to all spectators. A limited livestream will also be available on the Steelbacks TV YouTube channel.

We spoke to Women’s Head Coach David Ripley earlier in the week to discuss different players stepping up, having Tier 1 players in and around the squad and playing at Finedon Dolben.
