Northamptonshire Steelbacks Women return to the cinch County Ground tomorrow as they face Middlesex Women in the Vitality Blast Women’s League 2.

The Steelbacks kicked off their T20 campaign in the right way as they beat Worcestershire Rapids Women by 39 runs last Sunday.

Batting first, the Steelbacks posted a respectable 140/6 on a good wicket but they were clinical with the ball, bowling the Rapids out for just 101. It was a real team performance with all six bowlers used in the innings taking wickets.

The visitors enjoyed a very strong T20 campaign last year, winning the first edition of the competition. The side convincingly beat Yorkshire by ten wickets at the cinch County Ground to ensure that they were the first name of the trophy.

Middlesex have had a mixed start to the campaign this year, having won one and lost one in their opening two games. They comprehensively beat Kent Women by 106 runs in their opening game, however they fell to a five-wicket defeat to Leicestershire Foxes Women last weekend.

Play is scheduled to start at 2:30pm tomorrow, with free entry for all spectators. A livestream will also be available on the Steelbacks TV YouTube channel.
