Regardless of the result a day at the County Ground is great for all the family, and this Sunday will be even better than usual!
GAMES AND GIVEAWAYS ON THE OUTFIELD
Gates open at the earlier-than-usual time of 11:30am and we’ll have cricket games and giveaways on the outfield until 1:30pm.
Show off your cricket skills and earn yourself something from the lucky dip!
Upload your #SteelerSelfie via the official Northamptonshire app and you could win a Steelbacks cap!
Get a Morning Scratch card from our friends at Connect FM and by listening to Liz at Breakfast you could be £100 better off!
We’ll also have face painting, a children’s entertainer and all of the usual fun with Steeler and the Aspers Angels cheerleaders!
HOURS OF PLAY
Play starts at 2:30pm, with play continuing until approximately 5:30/5:45pm. Each team will have up to 20 overs to score as many runs as they can, unless they lose 10 wickets!
TICKETS
Tickets remain available for the game. By booking in advance you can save £5 on the match day prices – CLICK HERE to order online 24 hours a day. Print@Home tickets are really useful when it comes to beating the match day queues!
The ticket office and shop will open at 9am for match day sales at the Abington Avenue end. This is also the location for match day ticket collections.
CAR PARKING
Car parking is available in Abington Park for free; this car park closes one hour after the end of play, and no cars can be left in it overnight due to new stipulations from Northampton Borough Council.
There is no public car parking on site at the County Ground.
CHARITY BUCKET SHAKE
Sunday’s charity bucket shake is in aid of the Gosset Ward at Northampton General Hospital, a neonatal intensive care unit which cares for newborn babies who require some form of special high dependency or intensive care nursing, and in memory on Theo Crussell who sadly passed away due to Pre-Eclampsia in August 2015.
Theo’s father, Robbie, is among a group of cyclists who will shortly be riding between Northampton General Hospital and the Eiffel Tower in Paris to raise funds for the Gosset Ward, the Northamptonshire Charitable Health Fund and Action on Pre-Eclampsia.
Please give generously!
FOOD AND DRINK
There are a number of food options at the County Ground, including Mem Saab’s curry stand, Franks burgers, hot dogs and chicken, crepes, and other light refreshments.
For the first time drinks tokens will be available to buy when you enter the ground, saving you money at the bar!
5 x beer tokens – £20 (saving £2.50 compared to over-the-bar prices)
5 x non-alcoholic tokens – £10 (saving £2.50 compared to over-the-bar prices)
These tokens can be exchanged at designated bars throughout the Vitality Blast campaign, so if you don’t use them on Wednesday you can save them for a later date!
SHOP
This year’s brand new Vitality Blast replica kit from Canterbury will be available in the shop, along with a wide range of cricket merchandise and memorabilia.
MATCH PROGRAMME
This year we have a special match programme full of interactive features that link through to the official Northamptonshire app! The programme will be available for £5 at various points around the County Ground, while the app itself is free onto iOS and Android phones and tablets.
PLEASE NOTE
The County Ground is a non-smoking venue, aside from in designated areas. Allow extra time for bag searches and to avoid unnecessary queues.
