Our annual Community Day returns tomorrow as Northamptonshire Steelbacks host Lancashire at the cinch County Ground.

The Steelbacks have endured a tough start to the campaign and currently sit bottom of Group A after four games. On the other hand, Lancashire have started well despite losing their first game and sit top after three consecutive wins.
Matchday information:
Gates open at 10am, with play starting at the cinch County Ground at 11am tomorrow.
The end of innings interval is scheduled for around 2:30pm, but that is dependent on the outcome of the first innings. Play is expected to finish at around 6:30pm.
At the innings break, supporters will be encouraged to enter the outfield to play some cricket, so come on down and get involved in what should be a great day of One Day Cup action.
Our FanZone will also be back open tomorrow. There will be face painting, a speed tunnel and a bouncy castle.
In addition, there will be plenty of concessions around the ground with Rocky’s Gelato, Go Greek, Yumas Burger, Mem Saab and Nuts For Your Coffee all in attendance.
Our Steelbacks Foundation will also be in attendance as Charity Partners tomorrow. They will have plenty of kit and memorabilia that you will be available to buy. All proceeds will go to the Foundation and help their aim in providing and improving cricket around the county.

Why they can win the competition: A young Lancashire side has only won three of 16 matches combined across the past two campaigns, with only one of those coming last season. Their squad had been decimated by Hundred call-ups but should be stronger through this campaign.
Player to watch: Josh Bohannon hasn’t had the season he would have hoped, but he’s enjoyed this competition recently with three centuries across 2024 and 2025. Fingers crossed, he can underpin a title challenge alongside batting colleagues like Marcus Harris and Keaton Jennings.
Young gun: Lancashire believe dynamic 17-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Joe Moores is a star of the future. The England Under 19s left-hander made his senior debut in last year’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup and has broken into the other two formats this summer.
Final thought: Off the Rothesay County Championship promotion pace, the Red Rose just failed to reach the quarter-finals of the Vitality T20 Blast, a stage of the competition they are regulars at. They desperately need a pick-me-up over the next few weeks.
