Head Coach John Sadler has named one change to the squad for the clash with Surrey at The Oval beginning on Thursday.
Jack White joins the thirteen man list after impressive returns in the Second XI, Gareth Berg has been rotated out of the squad to manage the bowler workloads through the packed early season schedule.
Northamptonshire are undefeated so far in the LV= Insurance County Championship, with three confident draws proving the side can be competitive at the top level. Bowling Coach Chris Liddle was pleased with what he’d seen from the side so far.
“We want to be a team that is tough to beat and that makes it all the way until the end.” Liddle said.
“It shows in the three games that we’ve played that they have all gone down to the last session in the last hour of the fourth day.”
Liddle said the side’s focus remained the same for the trip to The Oval.
“We want to keep playing cricket like that, keep pushing teams and then hopefully we come out with a win. If not, then be tough to beat and come out with a draw, that’s how we want to go about our cricket”.
