Northamptonshire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce George Scrimshaw has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the Club until the end of 2027.
Scrimshaw’s deal was initially up in 2026, but the seamer has now put pen to paper for another year.
“I’m absolutely delighted to extend my contract at Northamptonshire for another year as I have loved my time here so far.” Scrimshaw said.
The tall seamer joined the Club in 2024 but missed the season with a back injury. In his first full season back, Scrimshaw took 26 wickets in a standout T20 season. Tied with fellow Steelback, Ben Sanderson, just two players picked up more wickets in the Vitality Blast than Scrimshaw.
“After missing a year due to injury last season I’m very thankful to the club for showing faith in me.
“I’ll continue to put in the hard work to put the performances I know I can for the team.”
Regularly bowling upwards of 90mph as well as standing at 6ft7, Scrimshaw’s wicket-taking ability in the crucial moments continued to highlight his importance to the County.
Head Coach Darren Lehmann was looking forward to seeing more of Scrimshaw.
“It’s been brilliant having George back to fitness and he’s really shown his wicket taking abilities in the Blast this year.
“He’s performed really well and has the pace and bounce that we need.
“We want to develop his red ball game as well and make sure he’s available in all formats for us.”
