John Sadler will take the reins as the Club’s Head Coach for the upcoming Royal London Cup.

Sadler steps into the role in place of David Ripley who begins his stint in The Hundred as part of the London Spirit coaching staff, and will continue to be supported by Bowling Coach Chris Liddle.

While the Royal London Cup begins on Sunday, Sadler is straight into his new position tomorrow as he oversees a Steelbacks side to take on Bedfordshire CCC. A 12-man squad has been named which features members from the Club’s Talent Pathway.

Bedfordshire’s 12-man squad also features players from the Northamptonshire Talent Pathway, alongside Australian Chris Green and former Northamptonshire player Matt Coles.

The 50 over match is set to get underway at 11am and all Season Ticket Holder and Life Members can attend the fixture by showing their card at the gate.

General Admission tickets are available for just £5 and can be ordered in advance or purchased from the Club Shop on the day of the fixture, under 18s can watch the match for free.

If you can’t make it to The County Ground the fixture will also be streamed live with commentary from Andrew Radd, Phil Rowe and Alex Wakely on BBC Radio Northampton.

The Steelbacks’ first game of the 2021 Royal London Cup is set for Sunday the 25th of July at The County Ground, tickets for all 4 fixtures are now available to order online.

Ripley will be joined in the competition by Adam Rossington (London Spirit), Josh Cobb (Welsh Fire) and Brandon Glover (Oval Invicibles) who were all drafted by their respective sides earlier in the year.
