Rob Keogh will remain at Northamptonshire for a further 2 years after signing a contract extension with the club.
“I’m really pleased to sign a new contract at the club.” Keogh said.
“It’s an exciting season ahead after being promoted to Division 1 again. We’ve been a successful team over the last 10 years and I’m looking forward to more success with the club.”
After missing much of 2018 with a finger injury, Keogh had an impressive year in all formats in 2019 and was named One Day Player of the Year at the club’s End of Season Awards. Head Coach David Ripley was happy to be keeping Keogh in the squad.
“I’m really pleased for Rob, he’s made a contribution across all three forms with bat and ball this year. He’s showed he can score hundreds, he’s taken wickets and he’s a brilliant fielder so why wouldn’t you want Rob Keogh hanging around for another couple of years?” Ripley said.
Keogh has been with Northamptonshire since he was just 14 and is a product of the Club’s junior pathway, that development is something David Ripley is proud of.
“He’s one of our own, an academy graduate and that’s always good news to look in a Northamptonshire side and see lads who’ve come through your academy. When you’ve got an allrounder who can bat in your top order that can really give you batting depth and we’re lucky that we’ve got that with Rob.” Ripley said.
2020 will be Keogh’s 14th year with the club and his 10th as a professional having made his List A debut in 2010. Following a strong year in all formats, he’s focused on going even bigger in Division 1 next season.
