Ella Phillips took four wickets but Yorkshire Women completed a five-wicket win to continue their unbeaten start in League 2 of the Women’s Vitality Blast.

Playing at Peterborough Town CC, the Steelbacks Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Openers Amelia Kemp and Gemma Marriott looked to get off to a positive start but that was disrupted in the opening over as Marriott was dismissed for a duck.

On her return to the team, Mabel Reid was in at three and alongside Kemp, the pair raced through the powerplay, finishing it 59/1.

Yorkshire clawed it back through the middle overs as Kemp and Reid both fell in the 8th over, with Speed and Butcher then falling in the 10th and 12th over.

Michaela Kirk stuck at it and top scored for the side with 35, as well as being suitably supported by Alicia Presland (22).

Finishing 150/9, the Steelbacks had worked into a good position ahead of their turn with the ball.

Yorkshire got off to a flyer thanks to Winfield-Hill, with the opener smashing 32 off 16 before edging behind off the bowling of Phillips.

Phillips claimed a second in the powerplay and the scores were fairly even after six overs, with the away side being 61/2.

By the halfway mark, Phillips had claimed four wickets and Yorkshire were 84/4, needing 67 more to win.

Ward (34) and Duckworth (21*) took the game away from the Steelbacks however as they shared a 47-run partnership.

Yorkshire wrapped up proceedings in the 18th over, securing a five-wicket win in Peterborough.
