Luke Procter will continue as Northamptonshire captain for the upcoming County Championship season.
Procter took over the captaincy ahead of the 2023 season and 2026 will be his fourth full campaign in the role.
The all-rounder is excited to lead the team again in the longest format.
“It’s always a privilege to lead this team in the County Championship. We have a great squad who can push on this year and I’m ready to play a part in making sure that happens.” Procter said.
Nathan McSweeney, who will be available for the whole season, will be vice captain.
Having been brought over by Head Coach Darren Lehmann, he sees the Australian international as an immediate leader within the squad.
“Nathan possesses clear leadership qualities with plenty of experience in captaincy and leadership in Australia.
“We see him as someone who can offer great support to Proccy (Luke Procter), who does a brilliant job leading the team in red ball cricket.”
The County Championship starts for Northamptonshire on Friday 3rd April at Wantage Road against Lancashire.
