Northamptonshire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that we will host a Women’s One Day International as England face the West Indies here at the County Ground on Tuesday 18th and Friday 21st June 2019.
England Women will be joining us in June as they finish as runners-up to their Ashes rivals in the ICC World T20 Cup this month. Ray Payne, Chief Executive at Northamptonshire County Cricket Club said: “We are incredibly honoured to be chosen to host an England Women’s fixture here at the County Ground. This season is set to be a huge summer of both international and domestic cricket.”
Heather Knight’s team will visit eight grounds in total across the country. Clare Connor, Director of England Women’s Cricket said: “We are thrilled to host two world-class women’s teams on our shores in the summer of 2019. As we have just seen in front of record crowds at the ICC Women’s World T20 in West Indies, both West Indies and Australia will be sure to provide a great challenge for us as well as skilful, entertaining cricket for the growing fan-base for the women’s game. Every Ashes summer is a privilege for us all to be part of and we’re looking forward to collaborating with all our venues to ensure we deliver high-quality match-day experiences throughout the summer of 2019.”
Tickets will go on sale in the new year.
