All-rounder Matt Coles has joined the club on loan from Essex.
Starting his career at Kent, the experienced Coles has played over 100 first class matches. A right arm fast bowler who bats left handed, Coles has scored more than 2,500 first class runs and is on the brink of taking his 350th first-class wicket.
Assistant Coach Phil Rowe was excited for the quality and experience he’s sure to bring to the red-ball side.
“He’s a talented all round cricketer, he’ll bring competition for places and cover to the squad.” Rowe said.
“He’s a player we’ve admired for a number of years, he’s a big character and brings a big personality, we’re looking forward to having that in the dressing room.”
Coles will be with the club until the 11th of July and is available for the Specsavers County Championship fixture against Durham.
