Northamptonshire County Cricket Club can confirm that Graeme White has left the club to pursue a new opportunity at Stowe School, bringing his successful time at the Club as both a player and a coach to an end.
The 39-year-old spent the majority of his playing career with Northamptonshire, where he won the T20 Blast in 2016, a feat he managed again as a coach this season.
After retirement from professional cricket in 2023, White remained at Northamptonshire as 2XI Head Coach and Lead Spin and Fielding Coach.
“It’s a really emotional moment leaving the club after so many years of service as a player and a coach.” White said.
“I’m really proud of what I’ve been able to achieve, and it’s been special to have played a part in all three T20 wins,” he added.
White has played a huge role in recent years in helping the younger generations of Northamptonshire cricketers thrive, as well as upping standards in the field, something that has been evident in the last couple of seasons.
“I feel like I’ve put my stamp on the 2XI and created a really good environment for our younger players to come through and make that transition into first team cricket.
“I’ve loved every second of my time here and I’m going to miss everyone, but I think it was time for me to move on and I’m really excited for the future and what that might hold.
“I wish all the players and staff all the best for the future and for the rest of the year, I’ll be keeping a close eye on what’s hopefully going to be a strong push for promotion.”
Northamptonshire CEO Ray Payne thanked White for his time with the county.
“Graeme has been part of some special moments at the Club and everyone at Northamptonshire is grateful for his efforts both as a player and a coach.
“He’s been an incredible person for the Club to have and we wish him all the best moving forward.”
