Paceman Brandon Glover has been named in the Netherlands men’s squad for the upcoming ICC CWC Super League series against Ireland.

Glover, who has already made 20 international appearances for the Netherlands, will be available for the three ODI’s on Wednesday 2, Friday 4 and Monday 7 June at Kampong in Utrecht.

“It’s a huge honour for me to be able to represent the Netherlands.” Glover said.

“It’s always awesome to be playing international cricket and to be representing a team I hold so close to my heart. It means a great deal for me to represent my Dutch roots on the field and to play with a great group of talented cricketers is special.

The quick will return to Northamptonshire immediately following the final game and will be available for selection in the Steelbacks’ opening Vitality Blast fixture on Friday 11 June.

“These games are going to be of a really high standard with a lot on the line, so being able to be a part of them is extremely valuable. It’ll test me in high pressure situations, and as it is white ball will prepare me nicely for the Vitality Blast when I return.

“I can put my skills to the test at the highest level and that for me is really exciting.”

Northamptonshire’s Bowling Coach Chris Liddle, who is also on the Netherlands coaching staff but will remain in the UK, was excited for the young bowler.

“It’s great that Brandon has been selected to play the ODI series against Ireland and from our point of view we know he will be getting some very competitive white ball cricket in before the Blast starts which is great.” Liddle said.

“I know Brandon is looking forward to linking up with the Dutch team and he’s been working hard on developing his game to lead the bowling attack for the Dutch.”
