Brandon Glover and Chris Liddle’s ICC T20 World Cup campaign kicks off today as the Netherlands take on Ireland.
The pair joined the squad in the UAE earlier this month in preparation for their three Round 1 fixtures against Ireland, Namibia and Sri Lanka.
“So far the prep has been really good and the facilities here are top class, I feel like my bowling is getting into a really good space.” Glover said.
“The quarantine was pretty awful just locked in our rooms and the heat here is severe but I’ve just recovered from a heel injury so the slower build up has actually benefitted me nicely.”
Bowling Coach Chris Liddle was delighted with Glover and his fellow bowling group.
“The bowlers have been superb to work with in the build up to our first World Cup game.” Liddle said.
“I can’t fault their attitude and commitment but what’s stood out the most is the skill level that we have here.
I’m looking forward to seeing them all play their part.”
Liddle was hoping to see Glover add to his 28career T20 International wickets.
“Brandon has managed to overcome his foot injury and has been really impressive.
He’s picked up some good wickets in the warm up games and I’m backing him to have a good campaign out here.”
“It’s an exciting time for all the players and I hope they enjoy every moment of it.”
