Pace bowler Dom Leech will join Northamptonshire at the end of the season on a three-year contract.
The 23-year-old will also join the club on a short-term loan immediately and will be available for selection for the Vitality County Championship game against Middlesex.
“I am thrilled to be joining Northamptonshire and I’m really looking forward to becoming a multi-format cricketer and progressing my game over the next three years with the help of the coaching team here,” said Leech.
“I am already looking forward to a really strong pre-season with Northamptonshire and I cannot wait for the 2025 season to begin.
“I would like to thank Yorkshire CCC for the last eight years having helped me progress from the academy to first team.”
A tall seamer, Leech joins the Northamptonshire attack having previously come through the age groups at Yorkshire and has represented England Under 19s on two occasions.
Head Coach John Sadler is excited at the prospect of Leech joining the club.
“Dom is an excellent signing for us,” Sadler said.
“He is a very good young bowler with a very high ceiling and a great attitude. He brings us some ball speed and really strengthens our bowling unit across all three formats.”
Leech had a short spell with Northamptonshire last year, featuring in a County Championship game against Lancashire at Old Trafford and also got a taste of action at Wantage Road when he visited with Yorkshire.
