Steven Crook’s long service at the County Ground has been rewarded with a testimonial year by Northamptonshire County Cricket Club and will have its first event at this Sunday’s Vitality Blast match against Birmingham Bears.

Crooky’s BBQ, Bears and Beers will see the all-rounder host guests in an exclusive pitch-side area for the Steelbacks’ match against Birmingham Bears with the day including a BBQ and beer tasting experience, as well as a behind-the-scenes tour of the County Ground.

And with Crook having twice won the Vitality Blast at his adopted home of the County Ground he says that it is the perfect occasion to launch his testimonial year.

“With T20 providing me and the club with a lot of incredible memories, I’m delighted to have my first event at one of the biggest matches of the year,” he said.

“It’s been a privilege to have represented Northamptonshire for such a long time. We’ve had a tight-knit group of players, some great coaches, and have punched well above our weight to win the Vitality Blast a couple of times.

“I’d like to thank the club’s management for granting me the testimonial year, as well as for all the players and supporters who have made me feel at home in Northampton over the years.”

Other events include A Question of Sport Pub Quiz hosted by Matt Dawson on September 13, a Heroes of Heroes Balloon Debate with Graeme Swann and Jimmy Anderson in The Long Room at Lord’s, and A Very Special Christmas party hosted by Earl Spencer at the magnificent Althorp.
