History was made on Day Three of the Second XI match between Northamptonshire & Glamorgan as Charlie Thurston scored a record breaking 253 – the highest ever score for Northamptonshire Second XI.

Thurston faced 422 balls across two days and shared 9 partners to stylishly play his way to a total that took Northamptonshire past the target of 413.

Gouldstone provided productive support with a classy 41 to secure a 100-run partnership with Thurston.

RS Mehmi and Nathan Buck both scored 29 to support Thurston in the middle, with the latter partnership reaching 105.

Thurston was eventually caught by Horton off the bowling of Kellaway to end his scoring run with Northamptonshire on 512 – leading by 99 runs.

Glamorgan’s reply was strong as Cooke batted well to score 68 runs from 90 balls. Friend was bowled by Brandon Glover and Ul-Hassan bowled Bevan, both for 10 runs each.

Taylor joined Cooke to take Glamorgan to 104/2, meaning a lead of 5 runs.
