The final day at Sophia Gardens saw bat once again dominate ball on a lifeless wicket.
Keogh and Rossington resumed their innings with Northamptonshire 522/4. Both survived the third new ball before Keogh brought up his fifth first-class century, going on to finish with 150 before sending a leading edge back to Labuschagne.
Rossington raised the bat for his 50 the following ball, and the pair continued to a partnership of 169 before Rossington departed for 70.
Going was slow as Northants had little interest in spending more time in the field after a heavy workload for the bowlers in the last week. Sharing it round, Glamorgan used 10 bowlers through the innings, with their two spinners Carlson and Root opting to bowl medium pace at times.
Nathan Buck brought some excitement to the afternoon as he battered his way to both his highest first-class score and his first half century. His score of 53 included 9 4s and 2 6s, leaving little running to be done. Northamptonshire were ultimately bowled out for 750 on the stroke of tea, the highest score at Sophia Gardens and second highest for Northamptonshire in first-class cricket.
With 33 overs remaining in the day, Luke Procter and Josh Cobb opened the bowling for the visitors. Cobb, more known for his off-spin in the shorter forms, opted for the long run and found a way through Selman’s defense to take the only wicket of the innings. At 70/1 it was handshakes all round and a merciful end in Cardiff.
