Today, Northamptonshire County Cricket Club has announced a three-year kit deal with sports clothing and kit provider, Canterbury.
The deal, which runs until 2020, will see skipper Alex Wakely and his players wear the new Canterbury kit across all formats.
Canterbury supply playing apparel to many teams around the world, from grassroots to elite, as part of their dedicated teamwear business.
Northants’ Chief Executive, Ray Payne, said; “We’re delighted to be bringing a brand like Canterbury on board, they’re a great company and their clothing is quality; it is the most significant kit deal in the history of the club.
“I’ve seen the kit and it looks fantastic, there will be a brand new shirt design for 50 over cricket this season as well as a new training kit and then next year we’ll also have a brand new T20 shirt.
“But it’s not just about first class cricket. It is about the Northamptonshire Cricket Board, and the Canterbury brand will flow all the way through the club from the Second eleven and Academy right down to those involved in the player pathway and youth divisions.
“Fans will also be able to purchase quality replica merchandise at reasonable prices from our club shop as of 26th February”.
Simon Rowe, Head of Sports Marketing at Canterbury of New Zealand, said: “We’re very proud to be working with Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. As their official kit provider, it’s our job to ensure that the players look and feel their best on the pitch so they can perform to the best of their ability. As a brand we continue to push the boundaries by evolving innovative technologies to ensure our kit helps players reach their peak, both individually and as a team.”
