Northamptonshire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that Ravi Bopara has re-joined the club on a one-year T20 contract for the 2025 season.

One of the standout players for the Steelbacks in the 2024 Vitality Blast, Bopara was the second top scorer and third highest wicket taker for the Club in the competition, scoring 340 runs and taking 13 wickets.

“I’m very excited to be coming back to Northamptonshire in 2025,” Bopara said.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time there this year, it’s a very good squad there with a very good Head Coach.

“Hopefully we can go that step further than last year and make it to Finals Day.”

On his debut for the Club, the all-rounder immediately showed his class and experience in the game, scoring an unbeaten half century to secure a five-wicket win against Derbyshire Falcons.

Throughout the competition, Bopara was a consistent performer, averaging just over 30 with the bat and he was also the Steelbacks most economical bowler, specialising in building pressure with tight and tricky spells in the middle overs.

Additional highlights included a high score of 61 against Leicestershire Foxes and best bowling figures of 4/34 against Yorkshire.

A hand injury unfortunately ruled him out of the T20 quarter-final against Somerset but Northamptonshire CEO Ray Payne was thrilled to get Bopara back on board for 2025.

“Ravi was a very important player for us in the Blast last year and he made some excellent contributions with both bat and ball.

“He has so much experience in the game and we’re looking forward to him playing a big part in helping the squad challenge for silverware next season.
