Ben is booked in for surgery on his left hand on Monday 12th February with local Upper Limbs Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Alistair Jepson. He will perform a minor procedure on Ben to enable him to play without the current discomfort after he sustained a hand injury at the end of last season.
We allowed Ben the opportunity to play for England down under by managing the injury conservatively with initial rest and followed by gradual progressions. Unfortunately, he aggravated the injury in training on his return in January which made us decide to follow the surgery route.
The procedure will take two to three months to make full recovery. We are hopeful he will be back playing cricket for Northamptonshire at the start of the season.
