Adam Rossington will leave Northamptonshire at the end of the season.

The keeper-batsman is currently on loan at Essex and has signed a permanent deal with the club following the end of his contract with Northamptonshire.

“Whilst I’m keen to continue my journey with Essex and excited about the future, I’m very grateful for my time with Northamptonshire and would like to thank all of the brilliant supporters for their consistent support over the years.” Rossington said.

“To my teammates at Wantage Road, it’s been a pleasure to have shared a dressing room with you.”

Rossington made nearly 200 appearances for Northamptonshire across eight years and scored more than 7,000 runs for the county across all formats.

“I’m sure I echo the thoughts of everyone at the club when I thank Adam for his fantastic service to Northamptonshire.

“He did a brilliant job as captain to see us up into Division One and I wish him well for the future.”
