George Scrimshaw took five wickets in his six overs and the 2XI comfortably chased down 137 to start their Second XI Championship season with a win.
After ending Day 2 316/9, the 2XI were only able to add one more run before Haddow was trapped LBW.
Surrey took a minimal lead of 14 into the second innings and looked to secure a strong lead. It didn’t go to plan as Blake was removed in the sixth over, edging to the slips where it was rebounded to Gus Miller.
Before the lunch break, Scrimshaw produced a fantastic spell, picking up wickets in three consecutive overs which reduced the batting side to 83/5 at lunch.
The relentless bowling continued in the afternoon session as two more wickets fell thanks to Greer and Haddow.
Returning to the attack, Scrimshaw picked up where he left off and claimed his five-wicket haul, having Ahmed and Stuart-Reckling edging behind.
From the six overs Scrimshaw bowled, he picked up five wickets and conceded only 16 runs.
Haddow collected the final wicket and Surrey 2XI were all out for 122, leaving the 2XI needing 137 to win.
Gus Miller and Van der Merwe opened up but Miller was caught in the deep in the third over, as he looked to chase the score down quickly.
Van der Merwe and Aadi Sharma were motoring on and the pair achieved a 64-run partnership before Van der Merwe was caught on the leg side just before tea.
Sharma and Halstead-Cleak got the final session of the day underway on 85/2, needing 52 to win.
17 runs were put on before Aadi Sharma was caught and bowled after miscuing a bouncer.
The wicket brought Krish Patel to the crease, who saw it through to the end with Halstead-Cleak to secure a thumping seven-wicket win.
