Academy Director Kevin Innes has revealed the Northamptonshire Academy squad for 2024.
The final step in the Club’s Talent Pathway system, the Academy has seen multiple success stories in recent years, with graduates like James Sales and Freddie Heldreich representing the County in the professional game and Raphael Weatherall receiving an England U19s call up.
There are two new additions to the Academy squad this year, with Charlie Oldershaw and Jack Bates progressing from the Club’s Emerging Player Programme.
“Well done to all of the players who make up the Northamptonshire Academy for 2024.” Innes said.
“They are a brilliant bunch of lads and we can’t wait to see them progress this year.”
The winter has seen a lot of hard work already put in and has been aided by mentoring and coaching from Ben Sanderson and Graeme White, along with new additions to the full-time Academy coaching setup.
The 2024 squad features a number of players in their final year of the youth development program and Innes believes the players have a great chance of moving on to for further success in the adult game.
“This year is a bit of an unusual year with 7 of our players being 18 and moving on from the Academy/Pathway set up at the end of the summer.
“All of them will be hoping their performances warrant a Rookie contract at the end of the year and that they can take that next step forward.”
